Future gastroenterologist. Your retirement is secure. Be proud.

Also, we dealt with the reversed letters thing for a long time.

As did we. My boys also, inexplicably, start many of their letters from the bottom. I have two 10-year-olds, and they both have bad handwriting, with one particularly bad to the point where we have trouble reading it. I asked the teacher about it, and she said that they don’t teach handwriting in school any more. There’s no time for it with all the math and science they have to cover for standardized testing. That said, my handwriting is pretty bad, since I just don’t do it any more. 95% of my communication is done with a keyboard/smartphone.

Yeah, I’m glad our school still teaches cursive. I don’t want handwriting to fall to the keyboard. We tested our kid, and found she has a mild dyslexia, but I knew she’d work through it, and she did.

Also, I’m gonna have to follow you because your posts trigger my parental PTSD, and I’m masochistic that way.
